AUCTIONEERS' REPORT; XIMARTJ. Messrs Grade,. Maclean and Adam report for the fortnight ending Saturday as follows r Horses—At the Timaru Horse Bazaar our entries of all' classes -have been, small. The draughts coming forward, with very few exceptions, are oily, medium quality, and consequently there is but little business deing in these. A few good hacks have changed hands. We quote medium draughts at up to £2l; inferior, I£B to £l2 10s. Hacks and harness horses— Medium to good, £l2 tp.£l6 10sl; light and weedy, £4 10a to £Bloa.

Sheep—At Weslidyke the supply! of fat sheep has been about equal to butchers’ requirements, and prices bare been well maintained. A few lines of stores have met a.good market. , We soil 80 fat ewes at'da 6d, 62 do do at 9i to lOa, 42wethers at 1 Is, 37 ewes at 9a, 23 do at|9s Id, 40 dq.do,at 11s, 148 hoggets at 9a 6'i, and 150 owes and lambs.—At Pleasant Point, 146 eWea (aged) and lambs at 8s lid, and and 26 fat ewes at 11a 7d. ; .Cattle—Entries .of fat cattle have been "smalt, and all lota to hand sold at equal to 19s per 100. b for beat quality, and 17s per lOOlb for secondt class, Storea-are in fair demand, those mostly sought after being yearlings and 3-year-olds.—At Pleasant Point there were only a few head;of fat cattle. Stores, however, were wtll repretented, and a good demand existed for all kinds, v with the exception of eld cows. Our sales are—2 fat bullocks at £7l7s6d, 5,d0 at £6 15s, 4 heifers at £5 ss, 8 cows at £4 10a to £5 2a 6d, 6 steers at £3 18s 6d, 25 cows at £3lss to £3l7a 6d, 12 cows and heifers at £3. 45 stears and heifers at 34s to £2 4s; 44 yearl nga at 20a to 265. Pigs—At Wasbdyke only 8 well-grown stores were penned, which we sold at 26s each. •

There ,was a full attendance of buyers, arid the demand was extremely iactive. Nearly every lot was cleared at an advance ofl to ld; on and Id ito J jd on .merino compared ,with the prices of the corresponding sale last year. Greasy halEbred brought 81 to 10£d,; crossbreds, 7Jd to' 9£d; merino ewes, 7£d to 9£d ; pieces and bellies, 6d, to 7Jd ; locks, Id to 3J. THE STOCK OF OATS. ; The Daily Times learns from the New Zealand Land, -Mortgage, - and Agency Company that the quantity of oats hold at this data in Otago amTSouthland is less by 90,000 sacks than was the case:at this time last year. It was then computed at 117,000 sacks, where there does not now appear to bo more than 22,000 sacks. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, December 6. At the wool sales to-day 10,000 bales Were sold. Prices were firm. American buy- rs are making large purchases; T How—Mutton, ; 34a 6 I to 355;; beef, 33i 6d to 24r. The, present stqck on hand is 8000 casks, or 2000 more than last .week. D<ic. 7. Australian mutton is quoted at 3Jd per Ibj/New Zealand, 4£d. The maiket is glutjpd, and it is not expected that prices will improve before March. Beef is qudted at 3d to 3|d. New Zealand wheat ru(es at thfj same price, but the market is weaker. The English wheat market is unchanged, and the Continental market is steady. American, however, has now. an upward tendency. For new crop on passage,- sellers ask 40s, fid. New Zealand wheat on passage is Quoted at an average of (40s. Ans? Italian flour, 28s* fid; New Zealand, 26s fid. W 00l is hardening, and the advance in prices ranges from Id fp l|d. Up to date 104,200 bales , have been catalogued, of vfhipji 1 werssold. Tallow, best mutton, 85s 4d ; best Dec. 11. At the wool sales to-day, crossbreds rpsiatjained recent rates,, hut medium quality showed a downward tendency.
