IRISH AFFAIRS.
London, December 7. An address has been presented!to Mr John Dillon by 155 Liberal members of the House of Commons sympathising with him at the unmerited sentence of imprisonment passed on him in June last.. Mr Dillon in replying to the address of sympathy presented to bim by the Liberal members of the House of Commons, said that liberalism had been the means of drawing England and Ireland closer together despite the acts ;of Government. If Home Rule were granted Ireland the friendship already loiuvd would be cemented. Home Rule for Ireland did not mean separation from England ; on the other hand the sympathy of England was what the Irish desired, and not political separation, and if that sympathy were freely offered to lrelood it wou'd go tar to stamp out crime in that country.
