H.M.S. Egeria, from Tonga and Fiji, arrived at Auckland yesterday. She made soundings around the Tonga Islands and surveyed the sea bottom from Tonga to Fiji, and from Fiji to New Zealand, for tbe proposed cable routs. The last two days’ stormy weather caused the soundings to be discontinued. She will leave in about a week to finish the survey in tbe vicinity of the Kermadec Islonds, The Otago A. and P. Show entries number 1306. There is a large falling off in merinos and colonial manufactures, but increases in all other departments. The Maori church at Jerusalem, 60 miles up the Wanganui River, was destroyed by fire on Friday. Incendiarism is suspected.
