SAMOAN NEWS.
Sydney, November 21. The German steamer Lubeck brings news from Samoa to November 6th • Tamasese bad concentrated 3000 men in a fort at Point Malinus,; and next day the greater part of Mataufa’s force assaulted their entrenchments- After a lough fight they were repulsed with a loss of IS killed and 20 or 30 wounded. A Number of the latter afterwards died, Tamasese lost 8 killed and 10| wounded. Two of his war boats were engaged but did no damage. The wounded men were attended to by the surgeons of the English men-of-war. Mataufa’s force is now nearly double that of iTamasese, On the 9th and 10th a dropping fire was kept up, but no harm was done on either side. When the steadier sailed the hostile party were still facing each other, Mataula is expected to win in the end. He is building a i large war boat, and a naval fight is expected shortly.
