AUCTIONEERS' REPORT/ ' TIMARU. Messrs Gracie, Maclean and Adam report for the past fortnight, ending Saturday, as follows : I-J.>rscs— Hotwitlr-ta ding the pressing demand, that exists for draughts ot good quality, there is but little business doing, for the reason that only second elass and third class horses are coming forward for sale. On the Ist inst., the day after the show, we hold our annual "sale of exhibited and ether stock. Our entry of horses was a large one, but sales were to effect. Best draughts: sold up to'£27. Our Saturday's sales have: been; below the average, owing to the cause stated above. We quote medium to good draughts at from £ls to £27; inferior and aged, £8 to £l2. Hacks—Medium, £lO to £l4 10s; light and weedy, £4 to £6 10d.

Sheep—At Washdyke, on the 2nd inst., there was only a small entry, and this week the heavy rain of Wednesdays arid i Thursday • prevented owners s'endingJstock forward. The same cause, however, will have the effect of improving the demand for all classes of store stock, as graziers can now rely on an abundance of pasture. At Pleasant Point, on the- si.ii, we sold 200 2-toothed crossbreds (shorn) at 7s 7d, 34 ewes (shorn) at 8s Id, 88 do do at 7s lid, 120 hoggets (in wool) at lis lid, 95 ewes (aged) and iambs at 9s 3d, and privately 760 hoggets.

Cactle —At Pleasant Point <;here was a full yard composed principally of young cattle and cows, with only 1 a small demand*for either. We sold yearlings at 20s to 295; 2 and 3-year-old steerß and heifers at from £3 to £4 ss; dry cows, from £2 to £3 7s 6d; calvers and milkers, £3 10s to £5 sn. At Washdyke, on the Bth inst., a small line of fat bullocks and heifers, on account of Mr Gr.eenaway, at £G 10s per head. Skins —We held our regular sale on the 30th ult. Our catalogue was a small one and prices were about the avevage.of last sale. Best crossbreds realised from 4s 7d to 5s 9d.; second do, 3a to 4s Id ; merinos, up to 4s 7d.
