TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the above was held last night. Present—Messrs Gray (Chairman), Coira, Clinch, Blyth, and Mason. MINUTES. The Chairman stated he had received a letter from Mr Pilbrow to the effect that he could not take over the duties as clerk for another month, and asking the Board to allow Mr Dyson to continue in the meamime. Mr Dyson having signified his willingness to do the work it was decided to comply with Mr Piibrow’s request. OVERSEER'S REPORT. The overseer’s report was to the effect that #ne man had been employed 27 days, I man aud 2 hones and dray for 7 days carting shingle, and 1 horse and dray for 3J days, at 5s per day, caning rubbish. Mr Blylh thought it was time to begin ■‘shphalting the footpaths, Messrs (Joira, Clinch, and Mason agreed with this. Mr Blylh said there were three or four ways of ashphalting. In Dunedin they do not boil the tar at all. After some conversation, Mr Coira proposed—“ That both sides of the Main Street, from the Post Office to Wood Street, be asphalted 4J feet wide, and hat specifications be prepared, and a special meeting be called that day week.” Mr Clinch seconded the motion, and it was carried unanimously.
