He gained 2ad prize at the Taieri Show, 1886, as a yearling, Hi< Sire, Sir George Gray, imported from Scotland, was bred by William Grey, Esq,, Muino raig, Kircudbright, sired by the famous Clydesdale stallion Larges Jock, 444, 0.5.8., dam Bell by Prince Alfred, 618, G.S.B. His dam Jenny, 93, NZ.8.8,, bred by Messrs Fleming and Hedley, Oamarn, sire Renfrew Jock, 135, N.Z SB. As the above will show, Pride of Taieri is descended from the best Clydesdale blood on record.
