Suakim, September 25. Colonel Hickman, who bad command of a battalion of Egyption infantry in the recent engagement against the rebels wilder Osman Digna, was severely wounded "flawing the attack, and he has since died from the injuries sustained, September 26. Owing to the hostile attitude of the natives on the coast, the Germans intend to proclaim the country in a state of siege. A large force of marines has been landed, and British subjects in the interior are withdrawing under military escorts, The natives are massing, and an engagement is expected shortly.

News has been- received here to the effect that several Germans have been murdered by the natives at Quiloa, a town to the sonth of this place, where the insurgents have rehoisted the Saltan’s flag.
