THE STANLEY RELIEF EXPEDITION.
London, September 25.
Fahran, Stanley’* Syrian interpreter, has arrived here. He reports that be left Major Bartteiol’a camp at Armo-y hirni, three days before the latter wAs 1 murdered. He, confirms the statements already made respecting, Barttelpt’s cruel and tyrannical conduct towards bis men. Stanley, on the other hand, was always considerate to membersof his party, and had strongly enforced on other; leaders the necessity for exercising kindness to natives. Fahran says that Barttelot’s cruelty to bis men commenced as soon as Stanley left, and brought on,him the hatred of Tippoo Tib, so be seized every opportunity to .obstruct , him i in all possible ways. Fahran belieyes- that Stanley has reached Emin. Bey, but admits that there is ,ground jfor the; anxiety regarding him.' 1 The London Press oppose further expeditions on the ground that already too many valuable lives and a considerable amount of money has been sacriioed in Central Africa. It is reported that the British East African Company are Strang expedition at Zanzibar to relieve Emin Bey. Brussels, September 24. King Leopold will despatch Lieut, Beeker in charge of an expedition by way of the Congo Riyer to relieve Mr Q, M. Stanley.
