Prince Bismarck’s denial of the authenticity of the Emperor Frederick’s diary is generally construed as a denial of the facts' therein stated, rather than the allegation that the diary ii a mere fabrication. The publication of the diary has created a sensation in Berlin and caused much uneasiness in official circles in that city, It is asserted that its publication ,is a gross breach of faith, as it is contended that the late Emperor gave instructions that the contents were not to be made pub* lie till fifty years after bis death. The diary was published without the Emperor William’s authority, September 26. The dimensions of the cruisers now building for the Australian station are —length 255 feet, with displacement of 2575 tons. Their horse-power will be 7500 each. ■ The Maori football team from New Zealand have arrived at Plymouth. Berlin, September 25. 1 The publisher of the extracts from the diary of the Emperor Frederick denies Prince Bismarck’s statement. He adds that if the extracts were not true, legal proceedings would hare been taken against him for publishing them. Prince Bismarck and bis . son, Count Herbert Bismarck, paid a sudden visit to the city to-day, and at once proceeded to interview the Emperor William at the royal palace at Potsdam. Rome, September 25. The report that Bishop Strossmayer of Djakobar has been summoned to this city is without foundation, Vienna, September 25. His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales has gone chamois hunting in company with Crown Prince Rudolph. On his return Hie Royal Highness will visit the King of Roumania at Bucharest.
