It is understood that Sir George Grey will soon proceed on his trip Home, going by way of Sm Francisco, and spending a few weeks in the United States. It is said that he will risif IHand and lecture on tHome Rule. He hopes to be able to return before next session.
Sir James Hector has telegraphed saying that ha Ims succeeded in obtaining a cool chamber at the Exhibition in Melbourne for any dairy produce which may be forwarded for the special show of snob material to be held in November next. The Premier returned to Wellington on Friday evening. Two young men, named John Lewis and Edward Morgan, were committed for trial at Oamaru on Saturday by the Resident Magistrate, for assaulting and robbing James Bunting, about 2 a.m. on Thursday.
