TOWN BOARD ELECTIONS.

The nomination of candidates for ■eats on the Geraldine, Temuka, and Arowhenua Town Boards— this being the biennial general election, the whole of the members retiring in accordance with the Act—took place yesterday, and the number of candidates nominated denotes the lively interest taken therein. Tor the Geraldine Board, which consists of seven members, nine gentlemen were nominated with the Returning Officer, Mr C. E. Sherratt. Mr W. Wills, Returning Officer, received seven nominations for the Temuka Board, and nine for Arowhenua, both Boards consisting of five members. The polls will take place on Wednesday next, particulars re the same being given in our advertising columns. The following are the names of the gentlemen nominated : TEMUKA. Messrs James Blyth, Stephen Clinch, Peter Coira, Keith F. Gray, John T. M. Hayhurst, Geo. J. Mason, and Geo. H. Mogridge. ABOWHENTTA. Messrs Joseph Ashwell, William BryaD, James Davis, George Edgeler, Alexander Frew, John T. M. HayBurst, Edward Lee, Charles J. Newbury, and Evan Vallender. GEBALDINE. Nathaniel Dunlop, William Stephen Ma»lin, John Muadell, Amos Sherratt, Robert Taylor, George Ward, Alfred White, James Williams, and William Young.
