During the morning members were kept haaging about, not so much because there was anything to do, as that it waß necessary to obtain the Governor's assent to ft the Bills which had been paßiei; and V this not being immediately obtainable, it fi »- was decided to adjourn till three o'clock, when any few remaining matters might, if possible, be' brought forward and cleared up. Wheu the House met, ho it- • ever, there was nothing to be done, and "after tbeßills which had been assented to hod been notified to members by message, Sir H. Atkinson rose and intimated that the prorogation would be formally made in the Gazette to-morrow. Be moved that the House adjourn for a week, which, of course, means that there would be no members to renume ; bnt some jocular '--.representatives, with a view to showing . ijthat they were game to the finish, called ; fpr'a division. The Speaker did not see • any joke about it, however, and refused to allow it, declaring the House ad- ~ lourned.
