John Griffith?, rabbiter, was found dead at OrbeH's,, 20 miles from Waikouaiti, yesterday. At the Dunedin City Court yesterday, Dr Wanless was fined 20s for a breach of the 'itamp Act. In the Supreme Court, Chrietchurch, yesterday morning, Mr Joynt, counsel for the Corporation, withdrew the motion for rescinding the injunction restraining the Corporation from taking a poll for the Gasworks Loan as he was convinced the Municipal Corporations Act, clause 181, had not been complied with. The criminal sittings of the Supreme Court opened at .Nelson yesterday before Mr Justice Eichmand. Only two cases were on the calendar. The Grand Jury found a true bill against William Meads, jun., t'br rape on a Maori girl, and no bill against Christian Dencker for arson.
