WOODBURY SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of this Committee was held on Monday last. Present—Messrs Dean (Chairman), Flat man, Heatley, and McKenzie. nOKRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read— From the Board of Education, dated July 9fch, 1888, enclosing circular from the Education Department, objecting to letting of schools for mere amusement purposes. From the same, intimating that £5, as incidentals for third quarter, had been lodged in the Bank of New Zealand to toe credit of the Committee. —Letter acknowledged, BEPAIHS. Eesolved —" That the Chairman write to the Board and state that it is impossible to keep the whole of the premises in thorough repair, the incidentals being too small for all requirements, and request the Board to reconsider the application of the Committee for special grant (£3) for repairs to belfry, which is completely decayed, and endangering the lives of the children and teaching staff." INSURANCE. Proposed by Mr McKenzie, iecondo<i by Mr Heatley—" That the school and furniture be reinsured in the New Zealand office at once."—Carried. DESKS AND POEMS. The Chairman stated that the desks and forms applied for had been received in good order. VISITORS. The Visitors reported that the school was working satisfactorily. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £7 3s Id were passed and paid, and the meeting then terminated.
