THE CHINESE QUESTION.
Sydney, June 22. The Hon. R. Oliver, Nhw Zealand delegate to the Chinese Conference, arrived lact niijht. Ho has interviewed the Premier, nnd received the official report of the '/'onferencn, which he has communicated to Sir H. Atkinson. It is unknown what action the New Zealand Government will take in reference to the decision of the Conference. June 23. The Maritime Laborers' Union intend taking a firm stand on the Chinese question, and a difficulty is anticipated on the arrival of the mail steamer Alameda from San Francisco next week, wheu it is be iieved that the union will refuse to work the ship if the Chinese crew is not removed. Washington, Juue 22. The Republican Convention demand the passage of the strictest laws against the introduction of Chinese into America.
