An arijourped meeting of the Board was held ~111 ithe -i( lioad Bourd office, Peel Forest, on Friday, the 22nd inst. Present' —The Hon. J. B. A. A eland (Chairman), and Messrs R. Mackay, C. Q. From the Qeraldine County Council, requesting the payment of £6B 2s to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, being the 1 Board's contribution for the current half yaafi—-The amount was passed for payment. ■v the g Qeraldine County Couneil, - forwarding a ; cheque!for £l6, as compensation for damage done to (be road at Tripp'i cutting crossing. —The Clerk to acknowledge the receipt of the same with thanke. From tbe Clerk Waimite Ceunty Council, requesting information as to the ■yitem adopted by the' Board' forlrepairlng end maintaining the roads in the district. —The Clerk was directed to supply the required information. From Messrs J. and S. vVilson, offering to supply chaff and to crush oats to the Board hi required.—The matter was left with the Clerk to arrange for' a, supply of chaff. •""* From Messrs White,' Smithgon, and Raymond, circular intimating change of partnership. From Mr R. Blackadder, Danedin, in reference to sale of stonocrusher. From the Agent Liverpool rnd London and Globe Insurance Company, in reference to the insurance policies of the Board. From the South Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Boird, enclosing % list of the names of ' persons receiving charitable aid in the various'parts of the district, : BATES. Proposed by Mr C. G. Tripp, seconded by the Chairman, and carried—" That a general rate, of one farthing in tbe pound be levied for the year ending 31st March, 1889, and that the Clerk prepare the ratebook accordingly." accounts., ~ After,passing accounts to the, amount of £225 Is 44 the Board ad jour bed. ■— . >
