GERALDINE RACING CLUB.
The annual meeting of the members of this Club was beld at the Crown Hotel, Geraldine, on Monday evening last, there being present—Messrs R. H. Pearpoint (Chairman), J. Muodell, J. Cunningham, K Wilson Smith, W. Heney, M. Connolly, T. Markham, and J. Turner. The Chairman reaj the advertisement calling the meeting.; MINDTEf. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, BAtANCE-SHEW. The balance-sheet and the books, duly audited; were laid upon, the., table. The baUnce-shoet allowed (hat the Club had commenced the year with'' a debit of £560 14s 10.1. The total expenditure for the yenr, including the. debit, bad been £llß2 17s 6d and. the receipts £1127 Is lid, leaving a debit' of £565 15s 7d. There were also further, liabilities, which brought the total up to abont £709. The Chairman hoped the members would try and work that liability off. He did not think the Club was worse off than many other Clubs. A great deal of the money owing had been spent on improving the coarse, saddling paddocks, stand, etc. The trustees did not fear the ultimate result at all, if the members would ral'y rotud and' support them. He moved that the balance-sheet as read be adopted.
This was dnly seconded and carried unanimously. ,•„ ~ OUTSTANDING SUBSCRIPTIONS. ■
fhe Chairman atated that there was a sum of £ll4 owing'for subscriptions, that In many instance)) the money ooly required looking up, aid steps would now be taken to obtain payment of the same. He alsn stated that the Club bad decided to do aw«y with the Sires' Produce Stakes, which had been a serious drawback to the Club all along. ELECTION OF COMMITTEEMBN. v The election of four persons to serve on the Committee in the roem of Messrs Pearpoint, Taylor,]Denoon, and H. flunter- : Brown, who, retire by: the effluxion of time, resulted in Messrs Pearpoint, Taylor, Markham, and La wson being elected. A vote of thanks to thVChairman and Auditor terminated the meetiag. Committee Meeting. A Committee meeting was, .held afterwards, when Messrs'.Pearpoint and Mundell were re-elected Chairman and Treasurer, respectively. . MOaRAMMB... ,! It was decided not to arrang* the programme for the Spring; Meeting till it was seen What would be the probable fate *f the totalisator. The amount to be paid in stakes would be considerably affected by the abolition or otherwise of the totaliaatqr. ~ It was resolved to write, to,, Mr Rhodes, the member for Gladstone,' and ass: him to endeavor to find out Ihe probable fate of the raachioe.'
