The death sentences passed on Halley and Clyde, concerned in an attack on an aboriginal woman at Hamilton, hav** been commuted to 18 years’[imprisonment, and to undergo a flogging. A patent has been taken out for destroying rabbits by electricity. The patentee’s plan is to arrange wires round the burrows in such a manner that the rabbits shall be killed by contact with them in crossing.
