THE RABBIT COMMISSION.
Adelaide, May 25
The Rabbit Commission have ex ammed Professor Watson on the disease of the nature of itch, introduced by him from Germany. The Professor admitted that the disease to bo successful in the extermination of rabbits depended on a moist aimospbere and would be of no value in many parts of Australia, He stated that the disease is not trausmittable to other animals. Other witnesses expressed the opinion that the disease is not effective for the purpose of rabbit extermination. One witness said sheep would be free from the disease. The Commission have ascertained that the grazing capabilities of several runs have been reduced from 150.000 to 20,000 sheep in l consequence of the inroads ef rabbits, and that owing to : this fact a number of innholders are giving up their runs every,year.; The commission has gone to .Tintinallogy run, near Silverton, where experiments will be conducted.
