Serious riotingis reported from’Letterkenny, County Donegal, owing to the secretary of the local branch of the National League having been arrested. Several of the police and many of the residents were injured.

A new Hsrae Rule sebemo has been published in the Irish Press, the authorship of which is attributed to the Right Hon. Joseph Chamberlain. The scheme is a modification of Mr Gladstone's scheme, and is strictly anti-coercive in character.

The Bishop of Limerick prohibits the meeting of Catholics, and asserts that the Pope’s rescript is binding on the consciences of both the clergy and the laity.
