MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Board was held in the Road Board office, Peel Forest, on Friday, the 20th inst. Present —The Hon. J. B, A. Acland (Chairman), Messrs 0. G. Tripp, Robt. Thew, G. J. Dennistoun, and R, Mackay, MINUTES. The minutes of the former meeting were read and confirmed, CORRESPONDENCE, Correspondence was read— Prom the Geraldine County Council, enclosing a copy of a resolution passed in reference to the crossing of the waterrace at Tripp’s catting that six months’ trial would be given to the present crossing before making any alteration. From the same, explaining the circumstances under which the Council’# letter of the 9h February was writ en. Prom Mr G. S, Maislor, r. quesiing permission to take a few loads of c'ay from the side of the road in Peel Fore,-t. —Resolved —“ Hint the Board cannot allow any clay to he removed from the sides of roads, but if any can he obtained

in any of the open gravel reserves he can have the quantity he requires,” From Mr J. Eitch, requesting the Board to hasten as much «i possible the opening up of a road to his land at Raincliff.—The Clerk was directed to inform Mr Hiteh that the Board would again bring the matter before the Go yernment witb the view of having the road line through the Timaru Borough Council reserve opened up. ANNUAL MEETING. Resolved—“ That the annual meeting of ratepayers bo held on Tuesday, May Ist.” TRIPP’S CUTTING. Proposed by the Chairman, seconded by Mr and carried—That no action be taken in the matter in dispute between the Board and the Geraldine County Council in reference to the crossing of the water-race at Tripp’s cutting till after the annual meeting of ratepayers.” APPLICATION. Resolved—“ That application bo made to the Geraldine County Council to hove planks put over the water-race crossings on the boundary road for the convenience of foot passengers,” ACCOUNTS, Accounts were passed for payment amounting to ±.132 12s lid. The meeting then adjourned.
