On Saturday at the hour appointed the meeting of members took place. There was a|large attendance, including members from Geraldine. An apology for unavoidable absence was received from Mr E. Mabin, Geraldine. Mr G. Smith was voted to the chair, and explained what had been done at the meeting held the previous evening. The steps taken were unanimously approved of and confirmed. ELECTION OP OFFICERS. The election of officers for the new Club was then proceeded with. It was thought advisable to have a head secretary at Winchester and an assistant at Geraldine. Mr H. Bennett and J. J. Hiskens, who had been the secretaries to the old Clubs, were reelected as secretary and assistant secretary respectively. Dr Eish was re-elected patron. Mr F. H. Barker, who has been a liberal subscriber to the Winchester Club, was re-elected president. The vice-presidents of the old Clubs were re-elected with the addition of Mr H. Moore. Mr G. Smith, formerly captain of the Winchester Club, was re-elected, while Mr E. Mabin, who occupied a similar position at Geraldine, was elected vice-captain. COMMITTEE. It was decided that four, in addition to the officers, should form the general committee, and Messrs J. A, Fitzgerald, W. Stewart, T. Harte, and H. N. Hiskens were re-elected. SELECTION COMMITTEE. Nine members were proposed for this, and an election resulted in Messrs F» Shallard, G. Smith, and H. N. Hiskens being returned. DELEGATES TO THE EU6BT UNION. The Club being entitled to three delegates to the Eugby Union Messrs G. Smith, J. A. Fitzgerald, and H. Bennett, the former delegates, were re-elected. SUBSCRIPTION. The annual subscription was fixed at 2s fid, those members picked for the first fifteen to pay 2s 6d extra, to be chosen only from paid-up members, fully paid-up members in the old Clubs to be considered financial in the new. ENTERTAINING, ETC. It was resolved that when the team decided to entertain an opposing team the members of the home team should bear the cost of such entertainment. A proposition that the members of a team going from home find their own travelling expenses was also carried.' PRACTICES, ETC. It was announced that a match would be played against a fifteen from Temuka at Geraldine on Saturday, May sth. In view of this it was decided to hold a full practice at WinChester on Saturday next, and one at Geraldine on Thursday week, May 3rd. Members were expressly requested to roll up. A vote of thanks to the' chair terminated the meeting, This Club is now very strong in numbers, and reckons some really good players among its numbers, so that with plenty of practice it should be heard of during the present season. As, however, no proficiency is to be obtained without hard practice, the members will do well to put in an appearance as often as possible if they do not want to 6e beaten ignominiously.
