ORARI BRIDGE SCHOOL.
THE TREAT. The annual school treat in connection with the Orari Bridge School came off on the 7th. The weather was beautifully fine, and everything passed off very pleasantly. Messrs Wm. Hewson, Ashby, Grant, Metcalf, McLeod, and Helem, members of the School Committee, assisted by the teachers of the school, Mr Steven, Miss Helem and N. McLean, carried out the arrangements, and nothing occurred to mar the pleasure of the meeting. The school children mustered strongly, and a considerable number of parents and friends were present. The refreshments were provided in a very liberal manner by Mr Riordan, of Geraldine. Messrs Hewson and Steven acted as handicappers, Messrs McLean and Ashby as judges, and Mr Helem made a most efficient starter. The following programme of sports was carried out:— BOTS. 100 Yards (13 years and upwards)— James Ashby, 2s, 1; Willie McDonald, Is, 2 ; William Grant, 6d, 3. 100 Yards (10 to 13 years)—-J, McLean, 2s, 1; John Grant, Is, 2 ; Maurice Lawlor, 6d, 3. 100 Yards (7 to 10 years) Eugene McGillicuddy, 2s, 1; Geo. Metcalf, Is, 2; Alex. Reid, 6d, 3. 100 Yards (under 7 years) Alex. McDonald and Andrew Reid, Is each, 1; Geo. Smith, fid, 2. Consolation funder 12 years)—Charles Hewson, 2s, 1; John McDonald, Is, 2 ; John Ashby, 6d, 3. Consolation (over 12 years) Dan McGillicuddy, Is, 1; Wm. Lawlor, 6d, 2. GIRLS. 100 Yards flO years and over)—Jane Reid, 2s, 1; Jane Grant, Is, 2 ; Minnie Piskie, 6d, 3, 100 Yards (7 to 10 years)—Eva Smith, 2s, 1; May Wharton, Is, 2; Lizzie McLean, 6d, 3. 100 Yards (7 years and under) —Mary McGillicuddy, 2s, 1; Carrie Hewson, Is, 2d ; Emily Piskie, fid, 3. Consolation (under 10,years)—Christina Grant, 2s, I ; Norah Lawlor, Is, 2 ; Kate Wharton, 6d, 3d. Consolation (over 10 years) Emma Piskie, Is, 1; Bella McDonald, 6d, 2. Some very handsome prizes had b;;-;n presented to the school by Mesdames D mlop, Pyo, Holem, McDonald, Bartrum, ? orner, and Misses Helena and Ashby, Ist Class —Christina Grant 1, Agnes McDonald 2. 2nd Class—Margaret Metcalf 1, Norah Lr.wlor 2. 3rd Glass—Lizsie McLean 1, Minnie PNkie 2. /" Ith Glass—Emma Piskie 1. sth Class—Bella McDonald 1, Jane Grant 2, 6th Class -Mary Cramond. Special prise presented by Miss Ashby —Jane Reid. Special prize presented by Miss Qelstn for the quietest ?ud most industrious girl in the school—Mary Wharton. ! This brought the proceedings to a close, and all seemed well satisfied with the day’s outing. -
