MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was held in tbe Road Board Office, Peel Forest, on Friday, the 16th inst. Present—The Eton. J. B. A.. Acland (Chairman), Messrs R. Thew, 0. G. Tripp, aod G. J, Dennistoua. minutes. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. TENDERS. Tenders for No. 15 contract, metalling on Kakahu and Burke's P»iss Road, were considered: John Mulvahill, £196; Robert Rae, £137 15s; Joseph Webb £130; Andrew Reid, £123; Michael Corkery, £lO7 ; Maurice Lawlor, £lO5 ; Kichard O'Neil, £IOO (accepted). CORRESPONDENCE. The following correspondence was read : From the Secretary to the Treasury, forwarding form to be filled up showing the indebtedness of the B iard on the 31st December, 1887, by way of loan or bank overdraft.—The Clerk was directed to supply the required information. From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, requesting to be favored with particulars relative to damage done to forests in the nieghborhood by fires. — The Clerk to reply, stating that the Board, knowing that bush fires were going on in and near this district, thought it their duty to advise the Government, From the Chairman of the Licensing Committee, requesting the use of tbe office for holding an election on local option the lit May.—-The request was granted. From the Commissioner of Property Tax, requesting copy of resolution levying rate for the current year, REPAIRS, The Clerk was instructed to attend to the necessary repairs to the pound; to have a fence put up on the terrace at Thew's cutting, and to inspect Eugene's cutting and shingle the same if necessary. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £B2 7a were passed for payment. The meeting then terminated; <
