TEMUKA FOOTBALL CLUB.
The annual general meeting of the T*m tka Football Club waa held in the Tein ika Hotel last Taeiday evening, and then waa a very large attendance. Mr Flint (Captain of the Club) occupied the char. MINUTES. The minutes of the last aanual meeting and >f a general meeting were read and confirmed. REPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET. The annual report and baknoe-ahcet. wore read as follows ; “ Gentlemen, —Your Committee have great pleasure in presenting to you the fourth annual report. Notwithstanding the heavy calls on the Club's funds your Com nittea are pleased to state that there is a credit balance left of 7s 6d. The tots! receipts as shewn en the balance-sheet here vith presented being £2015* 6d, and expenditure £2O B’. Through the increase in the number of members, who now number 38 paid up, we were able te place a second fifteen in the field, which have given a fairly good account of themselves, having played three matches with the South Canterbury Football Club’s second fifteen, the total number of points scored being 5 points againt 3. The first fifteen have played 9 matches, having won 5, lost 1, and 3 drawn. The total score obtained being 30 points against 9. Daring the eesson cups were presented by the President, Vice-President, and the Gaptian, and were gained by Mr Geo. Yelvin for bait back play, Mr E. Cutten for beet forward, end I. Clinch for best player in the second fifteen. The Club have also joined the Canterbury Rugby Union, and were represented by two delegates, Til., Rev, J. Hoatson sod H* Matthias, both of Christchurch. Ye were unable to send delegates from our own Club, and we recommend that s hearty vote of thanks bo accorded to them for their services. Members are doubtless aware that a South Canterbury Rugby Union is being formed by the Clubs of the district, and we would recommend foi the consideration of the meeting the advisability of joining the same, in view of the increased activity evinced by neighboring Clubs the Committee would urge upon members the necessity for increased exertion, not only in the field, but also in the interest* of the Club by procuring new members.” The report and balance-sheet were considered by all present to be very satisfactory, and on the motion of Mr W. Dyson were adopted as read. OFFICERS. The following officers for the ensuing year were then elected President—Mr J. T. M. Hayhurst ; Yice-Presidonts—Dr Hayes, and Messrs A. Grant, J. Talbot, and A. M. Clark; Captain -Mr G. Yelvin ; Vica-Captsin— Mr F. LeCren ; Secretary—Mr J. Blyth, junr. ; Committee—Messrs J. W. Yelvin, J. L. Flint, E. Cutten, P. K. Gray, and W. Dyson. TROPHIES. Messrs Flint aod Cutten presented a trophy each of the value of £2 2*. After a considerable amount of .discussion, Mr Cross proposed, Mr F. LeCren seconded, and it was carried—“ That tbs trophies be accepted with thanks, and that they be awarded by ballot at a special general meeting to be called at Ihs close of the season, a man to be eligible to play at least in three matches,” S.O. Ruoiy Union.
Mr Flint reported that Mr J. Valvin and himself bad attended in Timaru a meeting of delegates of radons dubs in the district to consider the advisability of formiof? a Rugby Union, when it was decided that the boundary should not go south of the Waitaki. By the arrangements made this Club was entitled to send two delegates. After fully discussing the matter, Mr J. Velvin proposed, Mr Gotten seconds#, and it was carried unanimously—“ That the Tomuka Football Club join the South Canterbury Union.*’
Messrs L. Flint and J. W, Yelvin ware appointed delegates to the Union for the ensuing year.
As a recommendation to the delegates, Mr F. K. Gray proposed, Mr Gotten seconded, and it was carried—“ That a fair proportion of the trial matches of the Rugby Union be played at Temuka and Winchester.”

T«n new members were elected.
The opening game of the season was fixed to be played on the first Saturday iu April, practices to be held in the meantime.
Mr J. Yelvin moved ». hearty vote of thanks to their late Captain, Mr Flint, and in doing so stated that it was through that gentleman’s enthusiasm that the Glub was so successful last year.—The motion was oarritd by acclamation.
Votes of thanks to the retiring officers and the Chairman terminated one of the most enthusiastic football meetings ever held in Temuka,
