Uhitbbsity Senate. —At the University Senate at Dunedin on Wednesday the examiners for the Bowen Fnze recommended its being awarded to the essay with the motto, " Quo diffioiliui hoo pro olarius,” which on being opened wae found to belong to Mountford Trimble, of Wellington. Rots, Dre. Redwood and Oowie, it was resolved, should be furnished with with letters commendatory from the University so as to be able to attend is representatives at the Bologna University celebration. After considerable discussion, it was decided to eontinue to present diplomas in public by 8 to 7. A number of recommendations as to supervision at examinations were adopted, Tba Finance Committee esiimttfld the income for the year nt £4065, and the expenditure at £3886, showing a balance of £IBO.
