GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of this Board Was held on Tuesday evening last; PresentMessrs J. Mundell (Chairman), J. Williams, J. A. Quin, W. Berry, and W. S. Maslin. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. iittebyiew. Mr J. Huffey waited on the Board and asked for an extension of time to finish his contract for clearing the roads in the bush. The applicant was informed that the Board would consider the matter, and the result would be communicated, to him. ' COBKBSPONBBNCB., Outward correspondence was read and approved of. Inward was read and dealt with as follows I From'the Chairman Geraldine Road Board, calling the attention of the Board to the thistles growing on land opposite Messrs J. Mundell and Co.'s stables, and requesting that the same be cleared.—The Chairman stated he had had the thistles, removed.

From the Treasury, Wellington, requesting information re the Board's indebtedness.

From Dr Foster, Chrlstohurch, rt the Board's leases. From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchureh, stating that the Government would contribute £lO to* wards forming the road to the Special Homestead Tillage Settlement, Geraldine. —The Clerk's report on the matter baring been read it was decided to call tenders for the work. The Clerk was also instructed to apply for the sum named. BAN«Eb'S BBPOBT.

The Ranger's report for the past month giving a list of stock found straying in the streets waa read. otbrsbkr's bbpobt. The Overseer's report was read. It was decided to let the cleaning el the streets in the township by contract, the work to be let in three or four sections and tenders to be in by one week from that date. KB HOT FIT'S A»HCAMOir. This being considered, ic waa decided to grant him an extension of three months. ACCOUNTS. * Accounts amounting to £8 tls 6d were passed for payment. BBFUND. The Chairman was instructed to apply to the Geraldine County Council for a refund of the fees for the transfer of the licenses of the Bush and Crown Hotels.

WATERWORKS'STOVKY. The \ Chairman stated that " Messrs Meason and Merchant had spoken to him with regard to making a survej.fqr the purpose of supplying the town with water. Sheifirm mentioned preferred dealing.with the Board rather than with private individuals. " Itwaa decided that the Board accept the offer of four guineas for doing the work.

LOCAL BOABD OF HEALTH. The Board then resolved itself into a Loml Board of Health.' •; INSPECTOR'S fiEFORT.

The Inspector of Nuisances 1 report was read, and he was instructed to write to Mr D. Shaw asking him to abato a millance existing, on his premises at the cornel of the, Park Road.

DOMAIN BOABD. *A meeting of the Domain Board was then hold.

The minutes of the previous ordinary meeting and of a speoial meeting were read and confirmed.

Tendera for leasing the lush Park (48 acres) were opened-aa follows; - M. Connolly, 2i per acre; W. S. < Mastoids 3d; A. Grant, 3s 6d. The latter was accepted. • This being all the business the meeting terminated.
