TEMUKA ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the above Board was hMd last Tatidwy. Present— Messrs Talbot (Chairman), Hayhnrat, and Bisiet. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. ACCOUNTS. Accounts were passed for payment. INTERVIEW. Mr McCsskill waited on the Board to aik for liberty to put a gate across the entrance to his place. No one used the road except Mr JBudd, who passed there very seldom.

BOUNDARY ROAD.
Ad account waa received from the Geraldine Road Board for £23 10a 3d, being the Board'a ahare of work dona on maintaining the boundary road. The Overaeer atated that there waa a oontra of oTer £5 10a againat the Geral* dine Road Board.—Toe matter waa al* lowed to atand oyer.

Correspondence was read as follows:
From Messrs Harper and Co., enclosing; account for £4 3a for services rendered in transferring property. From Mr Hide, asking hia name to be taken off the rate roll as be had n» property in the district. From Mr R. Taylor, asking far timber for crossings to bis land, and that certain bridges ba mada'on the adjoining road at Orari.—lt waa decided to grant timber for one crossing only, and to make two of tho most nrgentty required bridges during the month. From the Treasury, atatlng that £lOl 7s 2d had been paid to the credit of tut Board on account of subsidies, and £2l 8s lid for rates on Crown lands. OTERSHB'a MFORT. The Overseer's rtport wai read ai fol* lowi : "Gentlemen,—! have tha honor to report that during the past month no progress has beea made.with tha only contract now on hand, tie., enlarging Canal drain. The approaches to the bridge by.Mr Badham'a hare been made good, and the bridge by Mr Guild'a haa beep redrcked and repaired. Other small jobs that were necessary have been dona. Part of the Canal road by Edncational reserve Ko. 1400 haa been bunt. The s fire appears to hare been caused by sparka from fires lit on the reserre mentioned.— I have, etc., "F^Archm." It was resolved that Mr Taylor be in* s formed that the Board will expect to be compensated for damages sustained by the ; Aosrd through fire which spread from hia land ; the amount of such damage to be ascertained as aoon as convenient and Mr Taylor to be informed of it. DWAUITOT* RATWAYIRS. A list of defaulting ratepayers was laid before the Board, showing that £196 lis 3d waa due. j It was resolved that the Clerk be In. ! atructed to sue for all outatandiag ratee | after one week from date. The Board then adjourned.
