The following were the amounts won by each Provincial district £ Auckland and Thames 180 Wanganui ... 124 Hawkesßay 57 Taranaki ... ... 26 Wellington ... ... ... ... 63 Marlborough 28 Otago and Southland 354 Canterbury ... 52 Last year, when the conditions for both belts were the same as they now are, Captain White won the rifle belt with 478 points, and Gunner McCorkindale the carbine belt with 475 points. This year 50 points more were made by the rifle champion, and 40 by the carbine. Of course the improved quality of the ammunition i« the main cause of this.
