It is stated that England is annexing auriferous territory to the eastward of Coroni River, in Venezuela, end that the Venezuela Government threaten resistance if England persists in her actions. The captain reports having encountered the hurricane, also that the steamer Geelong was wrecked on Boulder Beach, Long Island. None of the crew were drowned, and there is a possibility of the steamer being floated, A number of other vessels are overdue, and anxiety is felt for their safety, Serious floods are reported from Rockhampton. The country is inundated to a depth of 20io. Rain fell for twenty-seven hours, and a railway inspector has been drowned. Hobart, Feb. 21. An accident happened on the • End-port-Scottsdale Railway this morning. Several of the carriages left the rails, and many of the passengers were seriously injured.
