OHRISTCHTOOH CORN EXCHANGE. Ths Corn Exchange reports for the week ending Friday evening, the 30th init. ;—. Favorable weather for farming still continue! and the work of hay gathering is being fast completed, crops of which •re reported heavy and well-saved. Grain crops are healthy and give promise at present of giving a fair average rettrn as tar as regards yields, the h»rvest, however, will be later by some 10 days to a fortnight, The market for all cereals is langnii, and it will be with difficulty that a clearance can be made before the new grain is to hand, This, as regards wheat, will chiefly be owing to the difficulty in obtaining freights to London, wfcich are still scarce and range from 25s to 30s.

;Wh«*t—Millers have been operating to a limited extent in pearl and-hunters at a price equal to 3s 3d f.0.b., but tuscan does not command more than 3a id to 8s 2d for shipment; second quality is weak at 2s lid to 3s, and chicken wheat is slow of sale at 2s 6d to 2s 8d for broken, and 2s 9d for whole.

Barley-~None offering, Orass beed There are now several buyers in the market for farmers' lines, but the prices offering do not tend to business. We, however, do not (in the face ot the large stocks of old seed on hand) see much chance of better priceß tor.some time to come. Present prices range from Is 9d to 2s 6d for medium seed; and op to 2s 9d for well dressed parcels, machine dressed has no market at present. Cocksfoot is now in small compass and is quoted at 4d to 4£d for the best seed. The advices from the Peninsula report a late harvest, good prospects of yield, but a gosd deal mixed with foreign seeds. Dairy Produce Butter has been slightly better in demand, and may now be quoted at 5d for prime tub, second qua ity almost unsaleable, Cheese is very quiet and quality very irregular; values vary from to 4d. The above prices are those paid to farmers and delivered f.o.b, Lyttelton, sacks «ntra.
