Siib-Snpsrinteudent Gilbert, of ibe IST *I pior Fire Brigade, kid e'uirn to a clock won by a loam some years ago. He took the clock away, and lie invited the brigade to take legal proceedings to test his claim, but it was agreed to submit the matter to arbitration. The arbitrators have decided that, the clock belongs to Gilbert, as be bought out the shares of the winning team.

By nows received at Dunedin from Martin’s Bay, it appears that Captain JBrebner, lata of Port Chalmers, Waiter Richardson, Carl Wolf, and Edward Perry were drowned thorn. They wore ail in their boat. Capt.dn JBrebner lias a family at Port Ohaimeis, and Richardson belongs to Otago, but nothing is known of the others.
