IRISH AFFAIRS.
London. Doc. 1. At a banquet in Dublin last night in honor of Lord Burlington and Mr Goschen, the enthusiasm which was aroused in the city by their visit continued unabated. Mr R. C, Graham, M.P. for NorthWest Lanarkshire, and Burns, the Socialist leader, have been committed for trial for making use of seditious language at public meetings. Mr David Sheehy, M.P. for Galway, has been arrested on a similar charge. The Marquis of Hartington and Mr Goschen assert that the Separatists are responsible for the delay in extending local Government to Ireland, and declared they were confident of victory while the Unionists remained firm. Mr Sexton, M.F., has been elected Lord of Dublin. Dec, 3. Mr Timothy Harrington, M.P. for Dublin Harbor, and secretary to the National League, has been arrested for publishing reports of meetings of the league, Mr Edward Harrington, M.P. for West Kerry, was also arrested for publishing similar reports in the Kerry Sentinel.
The re-hearing of the charge against Sullivan, late Lord Mayor of Dublin, of publishing the reports of doings of the suppressed branches of the league in September last, terminated in the conviction of the accused, who was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment.
