ENGLISH AND FOREIGN. London, Not. 10. Two of the anarchists condemned (o death for participation in the Cbicogo riots, bare bad their sentences commuted to penal servitude for life. The remainder of the prisoners are under sentence of death, and will be executed to-day. Sir Vincent Barrington finds that the chief obstacle in obtaining the official representation of France at the Melbourne Exhibition, is French resentment at England boycotting the Paris Exhibition. The amount raised for the Imperial Institute is reported to be £450,000. The remain* of the late Mr A. Domett, C.M.G., will be buried in Kensal Green Cemetery. The funeral will be quite private, The Continental bourses are disturbed owing to the Crown Prince’s illness, The Pall Mall Gazette is inci ling the populace to hold a meeting in Trafalgar Square on Sunday in defiance of the proclamation issued ; by Sir Charles Warrei, Chief Commissioner of Police. Nov. 11. William Saunders, Home-Ruler, exmember of Parliament for Hull, has been arrested for addrepsing a meeting in Trafalgar Square. Mr Saunders’ arrest raises a test case as to the legality of the recent proclamation issued by the Chief Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police forbidding the holding of meetings in public squares. The gross liabilities of Lord Augustus Loftus amount to £62,200, of which £39,000 is fully secured. £49,000 of debts are secured to the extent of £15,700. The assets are nil, excepting pension, assurance policies, and ±30,000 interest under mir'fiage settlement worth £SOO a year. He also possesses many shares in Parnell’s Patent Pyrites Company. The principal unsecured creditors in Sydney are the City Bank, £ll7O ; F. Somers, £900; Marquis, Easy Contts and Company (partly secured), £31,000; Lady Loftus (fully secured), £2200. Lord Loftus attributes his failure to bis income being inadequate as compared with the duties ha had to fu'fil. It is believed that an offer of composition has been made, but as to the amount nothing is known. The anly free assets in bis pension which it is understood the creditors cannot touch. The American Department of Agriculture report this season’s yield of wheat at fourteen hundred and fifty-three millions of bushels. Nor. 12. Largely attended parades of anarchists bare been held in New York. The English princesses, who were attacked with measles, have quite recovered from the disease. Six thousand Jaws have been expelled from Tiflis in Asiatic Russia, It is intended to expell all Jews from the Caucasus. Mr Matthews has assured the residents of Trafalgar Square that the authorities will continue to prohibit meetings of the unemployed in the square on property owned by the Crown, A Russian man-of-war has been sunk by the British merchant ship Odessa, New York, Not. 10. The anarchist Liugg in whose cell a number of bombs were recently dis- i corerod, has committed suicide whilst confined in the Chicago Central Prison. Berlin, Not, 10, The official announcements published to-day lelative to the health of the Crown Prince states that the reports of His Highness’ medical attendants are of an unfavorable character, and that the result of the consultation has not removed the fears expressed as to the nature of the symptom*. Nov. 12. An official bulletin published to-day concerning the health of His Highness the Crown Prince, states that there is no longer any doubt but that the affection of the throat is a canserous growth. The physician* attendant upon Ilia Highness ara divided in opinion as to ha advisability of having recourse to tracheotomy or the application of soma less radical operation. Paris, Not. 11. Great excitement prevails here in consequence of an accusation having been made against M. Wfson, wherein he is charged with secretly substituting trivial for compromising letters in his connection with the Caffarel case. Government have ordered a searching enquiry to be made into the matter. The position of M. Gidvy is much shaken by the charge against his son-in law. Philadelphia, Nov, 11.
