London, Oct. 28. Bank of New Zealand shares are quoted at £lB, The Daily News thinks that there is no cause for alarm at the non-declaratinn of a dividend by the Bank. The Standard says it is evident that the colony is going from bad to worse. Later. Ths non-payment of a dividend by the Bank of New’Zealand caused a sensation among The English shareholders. The shares fell £2, and New Zealand stocks also suffered. Oct. 30. The Financial News, referring to the Bank of New Zealand, Mates that the Bank is the centre mainspring of a class dangerous to finance, and the tool of Ministers like Sir Julius Yogel in wild extravagame and reckless expenditure, which overwhelm the colony in debt. The Statist says that it is desirable that the shareholders should know how much the Bank has lost and how. The Economist considers that the directors of the Bank were quite right in not declaring k dividend when the profits did not Warrant it.
