DUNEDIN STOCK MARKETS.

At the Burnside Yards on WedneS' day the following business was trans acted :

Fat Cattle—l 96 were yarded from medium to prime quality. Prices ruled a shade below last weak’s quotations, except for a few pens very prime. Best bullocks brought from £7 to £8 10s—two pens extra heavy £9 12s 5d to £loa 10a ; light to medium, £4 to £6 15a ; cows, from £3 10s to £7 12s 6d. Fat Sheep—2429 were penned, of which 120 were merino. Prices showed an advance of fully la per bead on last week’s sales. Best crossbred wethers brought 16s to 18s 6d ; ordinary, 12s to 15s 6d ; best crossbred ewes, from 15s to 16s 3d ; ordinary, lls 3d to 14s 6d ; a few pens crossbred wethers up to 14s 3d ; do do ewes, 9s to lls; merino wethers, in the wool, 9s 3d to 10s.—Reid, Maclean and Co. sold for Mr H. Patterson (South Canterbury), 120 crotsb ad wethers from 13s9dto 14s; for Mr J. EL Bannatyne (South Canterbury), 201 crossbred wethers at 13s 6d to 14s. Wright, Stevenson and Co,, sold for Mr B. A. Barker (Oraii), 60 crossbred wethers and maiden ewes (light weights; at 14a 9d. Donald Reid and Co. sold for Mr William Grant (Elloughtou Grange) 65 shorn crossbred iewes at lls ; for Mr Andrew Grant (Willowbank), 200 halfbrod hoggets. Fat L imbs—372 were pened. The demand was by no means brisk, and no advance can be reported on last week’s priees. Inferior brought 4s 6d to 6s 6d ; good to best, 6s to 8a 6d ; a few extra up to 10s 3d. Pigs—6B penned, a very small supply. Prices showed a slight advance bn last week’s sales. Suckers brought 10s to 12a 6d ; stores, 13a 6d to 26a; porkers, 25s to 56s ; baconers, 39a to 41s. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, Oct. 26. Messrs Goldsbrough and Co., Limited, held their usual weekly sale of wool today. The attendance was large, and competition good, especially for light wools of good quality, greasy, bulky pieces, and good lambs. There was a good demand for heavy wools, but earthy wools were difficult to dispose of. The catalogue comprised 5000 bales, of which 1600 bales found purchasers. Greasy wool brought as much as lOd per lb, lambs wool Is o}d, ard scoured wool la 2d. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Oct. 25. Frozen mutton by the steamer Orient '8 selling at 3|-d per lb. Oct. 26. Beetroot sugar is quoted at 12s 3d, and is still advancing. Colonial produce maintains last quotations.
