Information hag been received that a Maori child named King was killed by b'dr.j thrown out of » buggy on Feathe'ston road, Wellington, on Friday. The body was taken to Pa wavs ai pah. Th* locomotives were in the shed, one recently from Home having cost £I2OO. This reeeived the worst damige from the fire, most of the patent metal and bra-s wrk being fnsed. A second engine was only partly burnt, but the third and le ist valuable was got out. They had anight watchman whose duty't was to he ;there between 8 and 12 o’cloi k, but be had been in the habit of keeping at home till 3 or 4 o'clock, and was iu bed at the lime the ti'o broke out. It will n quire about a couple of months before worn can he nvumed. Une of the Overseer* passed ti e building at I2a.rn. There was tbteu no ; sum of bre. The alarm was raised at j 1.20 a.m. |
