London, Oct. 3, M. Ferron, speaking at a banquet at Nice, said that possibly France might find herself in the position of having to repel an attack by Italy. The Emperor of Germany has ordered the release of M. Schncebell, and the payment of compensation to . the widow of the gamekeeper shot on the frontier. Later. ; The min who shot the French gamekeeper will probably he court-martialed, and G p rmanv will pay the widow 25,000 francs (£1000).
