TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.
The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board was held last evening. Present—Messrs Blyth, E. Brown, and Coira. Id the absence of Mr Gray, Mr Blyth was voted to the chair. Mr Gray subsequently attended. . MINUTES. ,
The minutes of the'’previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE.
Correspondence was received and dealt with as follows :
From Mr A, M, Clark, asking for a few loads of shingle for the footpath in High street, near hia (iffico.—fHorseer to attend. From Messrs Perry and Perry, solicitors, Timarn, asking the amount due in Messrs Siegert and Fauvel’s estate. —The information had been supplied. From Mr J. W. Boulter, mentioning a price for which he was prepared to kebp three lumps burning, in place of the hotel lumps,—The offer was accepled, subject to the approval of the Licensing Bench. From Mr Joh Brown, applying to have the name of Mr H. Fanvel suhslithted for his on the roll in respect of section 5, allotment 5, Main road, Temuka,—The Clone to attend to the matter.
overseer's report. The Overseer's report was as follows “To the Chairman and Commissioners Temuka Road Board. “Gentlemen,— l have the honor to . report that since last Board day one man has been employed 16 days spreading shingle for contractor on Railway Terrace, and cleaning out water-tables, etc Owing to the late wet weather the contractor for the Railway Terrace conduct has not been able to finish, bat I have put in a voucher for progress payment i.f £2O, b“ing 75 per cent, of the work already done. The weather has also prevented me having the footpaths filled up in Allnuatt,street, near Mr Capman’s and Mrs Farquharson’s.—The only w > k 1 know of to be done this month, afier the above work is completed, is the watertabes in several places require looking to, after the heavj rains lately.—The Ci dit in Bank is £220 8« 5d. —T am, etc., “ Gbor*e Dtson, “ Clerk to the Board.’
INSPECTOR OF NUISANCES 1 REPORT. “As Inspector of Nuisaneo 1 have to report that there are severs l clos ts on Essery’s property that, are not at,'ended to properly, but the tenants deny the liability to have them emptied, reason being they only rent the buildings, As the owner is away, I not been able to make the complaint to Irnx personally again, but if I am permitted to make a suggestion I think the best plan would be to employ the nightman to empty them, and send the account, to the owner of the property, as, of course, Hre nightman cannot see his way to ’-empty the closets, knowing he will not gePpiid for them without he receives orders fr«m some particular person or persons. “ G*ok** Drson, , “Inspector of Nuisances ’’

ACCOUNTS, Accounts to the amount of £33 6s were passed for payment, and the Board then adjourned. .
