ENTIRE HORSE PARADE AT GERALDINE.

Following the example of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Messrs J. Mundoll and Co., the enterprising firm of auctioneers at Geraldine, in conjunction with a number of other horse owners in the district, decided, if possible, to inangnarate an annual parade of entire hones at Geraldine. The idea was taken up as a good one, and the parade was held yesterday. Such a thing had never been held in Geraldine before, and it was looked forward to with a considerable amount of interest by stockowners. Being the date of the usual monthly sale at Geraldine there was quite a large number of persona present. The number of entries was good, considering it was the first year such a thing bad besn mooted. There were no less than twelve horses of all descriptions on p trade. It was originally intended to have held it in the Park, but the ground being too wet the animals were paraded up the Main Street, "doing the block ’’ upon wbioh the Geraldine Hotel stands. The parade state was aa follows: DRAUGHT HOBBB9. Messrs J. Mundell and Co.’s Superior, by Wait-a-Wee, dam Diamond. Mr B. Edgeworth's Nobleman, by Sir William Wallace, dam Blossom, Mr H. Coulter’s Foreign Policy, by Lord Beaoomfield, dam Poll, by Prince Charlie. Mr J. Beattie’s Strathmore, by Glenroy, dam Violet. Superior ia a powerful, well-made Clydesdale of pure black color, standing well on bis legs, and with plenty of bone. His action also ia good, and being just the stamp of horse to get good useful farm horses he should have a big season in the Geraldine district. Nobleman, too, should prove a valuable animal. Mr Coulter’s Foreign Policy, rising three years, is a well-grown oolfc. Strathmore was also much admired, and has upland id action. THOKOUGHBBBD HOBSE3. Messrs J. Mundell and Go’s Trump Card by Traducer—Revoke, by Sir Hercules. Mr M. Oonolly’s Hanlon by Oadogan (imp), dam Waterwitoh. Mr A, L. Barker’s Xerxes by Bundoora dam Xanfa. The old favorite Tramp Card was in capital fettle, and mat with great favor, Hanlan was also in good form, and is a stamp of horso that should prove a valuable acquisition to his owner. Xerxes drew considerable attention as the son of the famous Bundoora, COACHING STALLIONS, Mr Cochran's Dauntless by Hunningfcon, dam Jezebel, Messrs M. A. Toomey and Son’s Bluelight by Old Bluelight, dam Asia (imp.). Messrs Anderson and Murdoch’s Marmion, by Panic (imp,), dam Barbelle. Mr J. Mason’s Young Knottingly by Knottingly, dam (imp ). Dauntless is a model of a coaching stallion of splendid color and was much admired, Bluelight is a sire that should produce excellent carriage greys. Marmion is of the make and color that should cause his services as a stallion to be largely in demand. The chestnut Knottingly was showing the good prints ol hu well-known sire to advantage, PONIES. Mefgr* J. Mundell and Oo.’s Highland Laddie. This beautiful little pony was the only one entered, As a getter of polo ponies he should be greatly sought after. It is intended to made the parade an annual one in the Geraldine district, and no doubt it will next year be a still greater suo'ess,
