Berlin, Sept. 29. M. Schncebell, junr., whoiecently was arrested for affixing a seditious placard to a post on the Lorraine frontier, has been sentenced at Metz to three weeks’ imprisonment. London, Sept. 30. The irritation on the Franco-German frontier is extreme, and a feeling is prevalent at Metz that war is near and inevitable The German Generals are reported to bo actively engaged in inspecting forts. Paris, Oct. 1. Count Munster, the German Ambassador here, has informed M. Flourens, Minister for Foreign Affairs, that his Government intend to take steps to make the situation on the Franco-German frontier less straitened.
