In the course ' of the proceedings Mr Haninglou, who defended O’Brien, accused the Gov rnment of purposely suppressing a true version of O’Brien’s speech, and cnlhd upon (he Crown counsel to substantiate his statement, He, however, denied the truth of the accusation against the Government. -The magistrates thereupon rebuked Mr Harrington nnd threatened bis rjectrncnt from the court if such an accusation were repeated. Mr Harrington thereupon abandoned the case, Mr O’Brien was found guil'j and sentenced to three months’imprisonment open two charges, the sentences to be concurrent. He was admitted to bail pending an appeal upon the first sentence.
