CHRISTOHUROH STOCK MARKETS. At the Addington live stock market on Wednesday, fairly large entries of all kinds of stock; attendance of buyers and others being about an average one; business moderately active. Fat Cattle—bteers sold at from £6 2s 6d to £9 5i per head ; heifers at from, M lOj to £6 13) 6d, being at from 18J to 20s per 1001 b, according to quality. Fat Sheep—Pnmosfc wethera sold at from 14b 6d to 16ij wethers and maiden ewes, 13s to 15s 6d j owes, 10s to 13s 6d ; light weights ah from, 9a 6d to lis 6d per head; merino wethers at from 8a 9d to 123, being at from Ifi'to 2fi per lb, aooording to the quality.—Messrs ff. Matson and 00. sold for the Hon. L. Walker orossbred wothera at 12s 3d to 12s 9d, lighter weights lOi 6d and lis, mixed sexes halfbreds.at 9s 3d ; for Mr Hur.ter Brown 76 croeßbred ewes at 10s, 44 do at 9$ 3d ; for Mr T, P*rk 60 orossbredj at 12s 3d to 13i 3d. The NZL. andM.A. 00. sold for Mr A. M. Clark 240 mixed sexes croaabreds at from 12s 3d to 14s 9d; for the P.reora estate, 11 crossbred ewes lis 9i to 12j 3d. Fat Lambs—A good number yarded, of varied quality. Prices ranged from 7i to 153 per head. Pigs—Baconera sold at from 26s to 37s ; porkers, 16a to 27a j stores met with a better enquiry than of late at improved values. AUCTIONEERS' REPORT. TIMARU. Mr Mobs Jonaß reports aa follows:—He it happy to state that the indio&tion« of improvement in business, mentioned in his last report as apparently existing, hare since than given stronger evidenoe of the actuality of a favorable change that is undoubtedly taking placa in the world of commerce. Point Sale,—This provsd again a most successful sale, both in point of numbers and for prices obtained for the stock. There was a far larger individual entry of fat sheep than there hug been for some time pwt, but, buyers were to the fore, and every lot wss absorbed at prices equal to and in some easei a shade better than at the last sale. In store shaep tbo average quality of the entries was not up to the standard of lest sale, and prices suffered correspondingly. In oattle a : fairly sood business was done.
