AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, Sept. 9. New Zea'and oats, Is lOd to 2s 2d; New Zealand wheat, none in market; maize, 3s 6d; potatoes, 25s to 30s. The market for potatoes is glutted. Adelaide, tiept. 9. Wheat is quiet at 3s 7d to 3s Bd. Flour is dull at the following quotations : Town brands, £9 5s to £9 10s ; country brands, £8 5s to £8 10s. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Sept. 9. Adelaide wheat, ex store, is unchanged at 345, and New Zealand wheat 31s to 335, according to quality. Adelaide flour remains at 245. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,880,000 quarters, and for the Continent 350,000 quarters. Australian tallow, average quality— Beef has declined to 22s 6d; mutton to 23s 6d.

Australian leather is selling at Is. At the wool auctions yesterday 10,800 bales were submitted. The tone of the market was firm. At to-day’s sales 11,200 bales were offered, when the market war irregular, All sorts of inferior and faulty descriptions were £d lower; merino, |d to Id lower, and scoured merino and lambs’ wool id lower than the closing rates of last sales. Sept, 10. The wheat market is dull. English white sorts are firm. Bed sorts are 6d lower. Foreign consignments are inactive, and prices are nearly nominal. Californian shipments have been gradually absorbed. Australian cargoes on the spot are quoted at 6d lower, and an off-coast cargo from Melbourne, comprising 1000 quarters, has been sold at 30s 6d. At the wool sales 55,000 bales were catalogued, of which 5000 were withdrawn. There was a poor selection of superior merinos and crossbreds, the prices remaining at par; but in faulty sorts and lambs there was a decline of id as compared with last series.
