THE EXETER FIRE.
London, Sept. 7. The Paris journal Le Temps states that the lesson of the Opera Oomique disaster has been ignored. It advocates that theatres should be illuminated by electric light, generated in a separate building; that scenery of a noninflammable character should be used ; that doors for egress everywhere bo kept open ; that a fire brigade should be attached to every theatre, composed of machinists ; that seats should be of the automatic tilting kind, and if these conditions are not complied with no license should be granted. Sept. 8. One hundred and ninety lives were lost in the Exeter fire. Sixty of the bodies could not be identified, being merely calcined remains.
