GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The usual monthly meeting, of this Committee took place in the schoolroom on Wednesday evening last. Present— Messrs W. S. Maslin (Chairman), J. Riordan, G. Taybr, A. White, G. Ward, C. E. Sherratt and R. k. Pearpoint. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. IHB OM> WINDOWS. The Chairman stated that he bad sold the old window* belonging to the school. | His action was approved of. | CORRESPONDBNOB. | Correspondence was read—- > From the S.C. Board of Education iutimnting that the incidentals for the : quarter, £lll3s sd, had beta lodged to the Committee's credit. MASTKE'S REPORT. The Head Muster's report was read. It showed the average attendance for the past four weeks to hate beon 184.3 ; the highest attendance 205. He stated that all the pupil toachers had paised their examination. Mr J. P. Kal-mgher had passed first in his class although the youngest of the candidate* therein. The Committe* congratulated Mr Aitken and especiolly Mr Kalaugher on his success. KtIZE FUND. The Chairman stated that the balance of the prize fund a-ncunted to £2, and the liabilities to £2 2a 6d. He was authorised to psy the accounts connected therewith as far as the amount would go. The Chairman also intimated that the balance to the credit of the general fund was£Bl2alod. VISITORS. Mr B. H. Pearpoint, on behalf of the visitors, reported having visited the school and finding overyfchiug working satisfactorily. He also reported that the wooden drain on the master's premises required replaciug with pipes. The work whs authorised to bo done. IEAKY ROOF. M««ers A. vVhite and O. E. Sherratt were appointed visitors for the ensuing month, the former to make a special report on the Je»ky state of the roof. MISCELLANEOUS. The Chairman wa3 authorised to write to the Board of Education for copiei of the Education Act and a copy of the teachers' salaries. This being all the buainejs the meeting terminated.
