Melbourne, Aug. 5. Serious floods continue in the northwest of tbe colony, and it is feared that within a few days tbe Goulborn Valley will be visited with the most extensive and disastrous inundation ever experienced.

At a meeting of the National Insurance Company of Australasia held today it was decided to discontinue business in New Zealand, owing to the heavy losses that bad been unstained in that colony.
