COURSING.
At the kind invitation of Mr G. J, Doonistoun a number of gentlemen met at his homestead on Thursday for the purpose of enjoying a day’s coursing. A number of gentlemen were also to have come from the north, but were unable to do so. The weather was all that could be desired. Hares were found to be plentiful enough for coursing purposes, and a day’s really enjoyable sport was obtained, The following are the results : ALL-AGED STAKES. Mr J. Bull’s f b Lucy, pedigree unknown, beat Mr J. Armstrong’s Koran, Meg—Ballarat. Mr W. Burgess' f b Flora, ScampLady, beat Mr J. Cunningham’s hr b Queen, Tasman—Fanny, Mr J. Bull’s Vic, pedigrso unknown, ran a bye. Second Round, Lucy beat Flora, Vic and Lucy therefore divided the money. PUPPY STAKES. Mr V&. Burgess’ f b Fiora, ScampLady, bent Mr J. Armstrong’s b b Koran, Meg—Ballarat. Mr J, Cunningham’s br bjQueen ran a bye. Second Round. Flora beat Queen and won the slake.
