London, July 17
The wheat market is inactive. Large American shipments have increased the visible supply, and off-coast cargoes being numerous, there is slack demand. The Lady Penrhyn’a cargo has been sold at 33s 3d ; the Castle tlolz’s at 3d, and the Riga’s at 6d more. Six Australian vescels have been withdrawn, mostly for the Continent. Eight shqs are in London awaiting sales. Quotations, exgranary 85s, ex ship 34s 6d.
AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, July 19. The Me'bourne Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Com pany, Limbed, of New Zealand reports on the local grain market as follows : Shipping wheat is in steady but not active demand at 3s lod to 3s lid. Malting barley is in more demand, and there is a slight improv-raent ; quotations from 4s 9J to 5s 94. New Zealand oats, feeding sorts, are in fair demand at 2fl 10 i to 3*. For milling oats there is moderate inqujry at 2s lid to 3s. New Zealand oats under bond are quiet at 2s to 2s 2d.
